Trinity is a family of Christ-followers sharing God’s love by equipping every generation to serve all people as Jesus did for us. It seems unsettling that God is thinking about us. At first, aware of our failings, we are full of guilt and perhaps foreboding. But understanding God’s loving concern, His thoughts quell our misgivings. The Old Testament Reading reminds us that He created everything—for us. Although the people of Jerusalem were instrumental in Jesus’ crucifixion, Peter’s reminder of David’s writing points out that the Creator is stronger than His creation. Good news! And despite our sins and wanderings, God wants to use us. He has work for us to do. He must be thinking about what we can do, now separated from our sins. We have been united to Christ. “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:1).
