“ARE WE IN THE END TIMES?  IS THE END OF THE WORLD COMING SOON?”

Many so-called Biblical scholars are warning people that what we are seeing
now are signs that the ‘END’ is soon.  My response is that I hope they are
right!!  If Jesus is coming soon and our redemption is near – AMEN!
HALLELUJAH!!   Sadly, I cannot agree, nor does sound Biblical scholarship.
Without a doubt we are witnessing some very troublesome times:  pestilence
pandemic;  global political tensions;  natural disasters (threats of more);
terror, rioting and violence.  But this is not new.  Our sinful world has
produced all manner of distress and disaster since Adam and Eve fell into
temptation.  But, is the end near?  The truth is no one knows!  Are there
signs of the end times?  Yes, indeed!  There have been signs of the end
times since Jesus ascended back to heaven and promised He would return.  I
read an article recently that addressed this very question.  Upon closer
evaluation I discovered it was written almost 100 years ago following the
Spanish flu!

Brothers and Sisters, take heart and have faith!  “Not a hair of your head
will perish…straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is
drawing near.  Stay awake at all times and pray.” Luke 21: 19, 28, 36.  “For
everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  Romans 10:13

Gracious Lord, watch over and keep us!  Let faith suppress fear!  May hope
distill despair!
