Mid-Week Message with Pastor Krueger 5/20/2020

Members & Friends of Trinity Lutheran Church,

BUFFALO REOPENING!!!

Western New York is reopening under the Phase 1 guidelines as of 5/19/20

Phase 1: Construction; agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting; retail
(limited to curbside or in-store pickup and drop-off); manufacturing and
wholesale trade

Phase 2: Professional services, retail, administrative support, real
estate/rental and leasing

Phase 3: Restaurants/food services

Phase 4: Arts, entertainment and recreation; education …  (and churches?)

What does this mean for Trinity Lutheran Church?  Although churches are not
specifically mentioned in the above, Governor Cuomo said that churches can
reopen under Phase 4.   So, we can not open up the church building for
worship services quite yet.  As has been the case, the church building and
school building remain closed to everyone except authorized personnel.

The Executive Board has decided that we will continue to offer the online
worship services as we have.  We will also begin weekly Sunday Drive-In
style services on May 31st (Pentecost) through the month of June.  No
decision was made for July and August yet.  The same safety guidelines from
our Easter and Mother’s Day services will be observed.  Hopefully it will be
much warmer and less windy!  If you want to order popcorn – you’re out of
luck.  We are, however, exploring a safe and respectful way to offer Holy
Communion on June 14th and June 28th.

Please share this word (via phone…) with others who do not have internet
accessibility.  A congregational mailing is coming out later this week and
being sent to everyone’s home outlining services and procedures.   Blessings
to all!  Have a safe and pleasant Memorial Day week-end!
